Bolmåen is the "heart" in one of Sweden's longest canoe routes, where camping grounds with toilets, fresh water
supply and fire places with firewood have been set up for
your convenience - The Lagaroute (see the map). You pay for
your stay with camping cheques that can be bought at most canoe centres.

The first 18 km downstream offers canoeing without obstacles so no lifting is required. It takes you down the Bolmån river
and out into the water systems of the river Lagan.

The Lagaroute, starts far north at Slättö Mölle (Mill) and ends southwest in Kattegat west of Laholm. Choose the stages that fits best for you.

If you are experienced in canoeing you can make the whole Lagaroute in 3-4 days, a family can make it in a week.

The Sunnerboroute (see the map), is connected to Lagaåen and is a shorter and more simple supplement to Lagaleden.

For your convenience there are about 30 canoe camping grounds with toilets, space for grilling and often you can get free firewood and some places offer drinking water. By this we will not get unwanted "wild camping".

The long Lagaroute with over 170 km of paddle water offer different possibilities. You can choose between river- and lake paddling or a combination through Smaaland and Halland. From Slättö Mölle in the north, paddle south in the winding Storåen to the large lake Bolmen which is the 10th biggest lake in Sweden. The lake Bolmen (184 km2) can offer you several days of paddling in nice weather. You can also make a detour to the beautiful lake Unnen, go south from Bolmen into the Bolmå via the lake Kösen - Nöttja, the lake Exen into the waters of the Laga river.

The Sunnerboroute with over 70 - 80 km of paddling waters
can begin either in Vidöstern or in Furen/Flåren at the edge of the highland of Smaaland. The paddling can end at the canoe
centre at the small town Nöttja or be extended out in the Lagaroute.

You can find 5 camping grounds along the Sunnerboroute.

We can offer you transportation of equipment including the cardriver to your chosen start point after a meeting at the canoe centre

When the season start you can purchase an updated overview (in swedish only) of the Lagaroute and the Sunnerboroute. The overview give information about sights, challenges, bathing beaches, and difficulties with lift up of canoes plus time calculations (in swedish only).

We sell canoe maps over the the Lagaroute.
